Community.
Our work is rooted in the places we operate. We invest in those communities because they are part of the company — not adjacent to it — and the relationships we build there are some of the longest-running assets we nurture.
Where We Operate, We Invest
Mining, trading and shipping are demanding businesses, but they are also relationship businesses. The places we work in have welcomed us, become home to our teams, and shaped the company we have become. Community investment runs along the same long arc as the operations themselves.
Our community engagement is centred on three priorities: expanding access to education, enabling livelihoods, and supporting long-term socio-economic development. Across Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia and Guinea, we run programmes that follow those priorities, with hands-on involvement at every level.
When communities thrive, so do we.
How We Engage
Three priorities,
everywhere we go.
I.
Education
Expanding access.
Scholarships, school transport for lower-income families, mentoring and skills programmes. We invest in the next generation of talent in the regions we work in — supporting the development of future leaders for the long run.
II.
Livelihoods
Enabling incomes.
Local hiring, training programmes for our Guinean teams, agricultural projects on rehabilitated land, and procurement that channels through nearby businesses wherever possible.
III.
Long-Term Development
Building with care.
Infrastructure, healthcare initiatives, partnerships with local civic groups, and the kind of sustained presence that lets communities plan with us — not around us.

Singapore — Kindness Warrior, 2026
I.
Kindness warrior
From a small act of kindness,
towards brighter futures.
Kindness Warrior began as a small initiative during the pandemic in 2021 — our team's response to a community that needed support, and a way to do good and spread joy in a difficult time. Today, it is a cornerstone of our outreach in Singapore: an annual programme that raises funds for school transport for children from low-income families, in partnership with the North East Community Development Council since 2022. It brings together our team, partner companies, and the people we are supporting.
In 2025, the campaign raised S$136,620, bringing cumulative giving past S$352,000. The programme has always been more than fundraising — it creates space for friendship and shared purpose between local companies, beneficiaries and our own team, which is what we believe drives impact over the long term.

TOP Foon Yew Dream Education Advancement Programme
II.
malaysia — Education
Investing in the
next generation.
Malaysia is where the company's first generation built the foundations of TOP, and where many of the first relationships that shaped this business were formed. The TOP Foon Yew Dream Education Advancement Programme is our way of returning to that history — supporting deserving students at Foon Yew High School with scholarships and development opportunities.
The programme is run in collaboration with the Foon Yew High School Alumni-Singapore Association. We invest in the next generation of talent in the same way we invest in the ground we work on — patiently, deliberately, and with the long view. Because both are bets on a future we expect to share with the people coming after us.

`Guinea — Fria village visit
III.
Guinea — Local Engagement
Working alongsidethe community.
> Our largest operating presence is in Guinea — and so is the longest-standing of our community partnerships. Local hiring is the foundation: the majority of the workforce at our Guinea operations is Guinean, and we run sustained training and development programmes to support technical progression at every level. We invest in upgrading and promoting from within — building a Guinean leadership bench through the people already on our teams.
> Beyond the gate, we listen first. Our engagement focuses on the priorities communities themselves identify — schools, infrastructure, healthcare access, livelihoods — and we work with regional officials and traditional leadership to deliver what is needed. The port and roads we built support our shipments; they also serve the surrounding region.
