On 8 April 2025, we officially handed over a newly constructed 7km stretch of road in Fria. A combined effort together with AGB2A-GIC and the Fria provincial government to facilitate elevated access, convenience and progress for the surrounding community.
For schoolchildren, that means a safer daily walk to class. For families, a more reliable route to clinics, markets, and workplaces — journeys often made on foot or by motorbike across challenging terrain.
The Woulounkobi–Balandougou road was built over two months starting in February, financed by Top Guinea Mining. At the handover ceremony, TOP’s Deputy Head of Mining, Guo Yibing, shared:
“The completion of the road is not the end, but the beginning of deeper cooperation. We aim to strike the right balance between resource development and community well-being — ensuring the benefits of growth are shared by every member of the community.”
Colonel Alpha Oumar Cissé, Prefect of Fria, echoed this sentiment:
“This road not only solves many day-to-day challenges but brings new opportunities for growth. We deeply appreciate TOP’s commitment to local development and call on others to follow this example.”
The newly completed road improves everyday access for multiple villages, enhances the efficiency of goods transport, and strengthens integration with regional infrastructure — laying the foundation for broader economic opportunity.
