CNA: Singaporeans Working in Africa

Guinea is deeply woven into our story. Not just as a place we work, but as a place and a community that has shaped how we work.

Since 2019, our Deputy General Manager, Teo Hee Lian, has been based in Conakry, overseeing our operations on the ground. She was recently featured in a CNA TODAY piece on Singaporeans who live and work across Africa, speaking about a reminder she says she never takes for granted: when you’re far from home, it’s easy for a country to be reduced to headlines. But when you’re actually there, you see the kindness, warmth and everyday generosity that rarely make it into the news.

To our colleagues, partners, and the people and communities in Guinea: thank you for the trust, the collaboration, and the many lessons along the way. We’re grateful to be here, and to keep learning together.
