Meet Nurarzlin, or as her friends call her, Alyn.
At this year’s Kindness Warrior, we had the opportunity to chat with an inspiring mother of five as part of an interview with Berita Harian.
An entrepreneur running her own baking business while working towards her Private-Hire Vehicle licence, Alyn is full of resilience, drive and energy. She is the sole provider for her family, making sure her children never miss a day of school. She still remembers the day her son couldn’t go to school because his EZ-Link card had run out — something she is determined won’t happen again.
Since 2022, school transport support through North East Community Development Council’s STARS programme has helped ease that load for her three eldest. Speaking to Berita Harian, she shared why it matters to her:
“What remains most important is that my children can go to school and have plans for their future. If they have dreams, I want them to take steps toward achieving them.”
The annual Kindness Warrior campaign is how we, together with our band of partners, help families like Nurarzlin’s get there. This year’s campaign is still open and running till end-July.
