Sustainability.

Stewardship is our guiding principle. We work to leave the places we operate stronger than we found them, and to hand the trade we've inherited to the next generation in better shape than we received it.
Our shared earth, a shared duty
The work of supplying the world's resources is, by definition, a long-cycle business. The decisions we make today shape landscapes, livelihoods and supply chains for decades. We accept that as a responsibility and have built the company around it.
Our approach follows the Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, Performance. The three pillars are inseparable. Strong commercial performance funds rehabilitation and community programmes; environmental discipline keeps our licence to operate; and the people inside and around the company are what make any of it work. We measure each pillar, report on it, and hold ourselves accountable for the long run — because with more, we can do more.
"We are stewards, not owners. The land, the trade and the trust extended to us are all temporary — what matters is the condition in which we hand them on."
Framework

Three key pillars.

I.
People
Empowering our team, uplifting communities.
The safety, well-being and growth of the people who do this work — and of the communities that live alongside our operations. Training, employee well-being, occupational health and safety, and direct community investment.
II.
Planet
Safeguarding the environment, securing a shared future.
Land rehabilitation at every mine, measurement and reduction of GHG emissions, careful management of water and waste, and active investment in cleaner energy across the supply chain.
III.
Performance
Driving sustainable growth with purpose.
Financial resilience, governance integrity and transparent reporting — managed for the long view, so the company that funds this work is still here in the next generation, doing it better.

People

Empowering our team,
uplifting our communities.

The conditions of our work are demanding. Mining sites operate in remote terrain; ports and trading desks run around the clock; many of our colleagues are operating far from home. Our first responsibility is to the people who carry that load — and the second is to the families and towns who share the places we operate in.
We invest in training and progression, occupational health and safety systems, and the day-to-day environment that makes this a place worth working at. Employee feedback has held consistently in the 80s — 84% satisfied with our company culture in 2025, up from 81% in 2024. The result of deliberate work on flexibility, ergonomics, recognition and team development. Outside the gate, our community programmes — schools, scholarships, kindness initiatives, local hiring — are a shared culture across the company, with hands-on involvement at every level.

Planet

Safeguarding the environment, securing a shared future.

We work in places of real ecological consequence: the bauxite belt of West Africa, coal-bearing terrain in Sumatra, busy waterways across Asia. Long-term operating presence demands long-term environmental discipline — and we plan for closure from the day a project begins.
Land rehabilitation is embedded in every mine plan. We plan for the recovery of every piece of land we set foot on from the day a project begins. Across our Guinea concessions, we have planted over 320,000 trees and more than 330,000 cashew seeds to date — the cashews continuing to produce income for families in the area long after extraction concludes. On the energy side, we measure GHG emissions across all three scopes and have begun contributing to the decarbonisation of the supply chain itself. Microgrid deployment at our Guinea mine sites is currently underway.

performance

Driving sustainable growth,
with purpose.

Stewardship is only achievable if the company doing it is built to last. That makes financial discipline, governance integrity and transparency part of the same conversation as land rehabilitation and community investment — the work that funds the work.
We run the business for the long cycle, with steady year-on-year growth achieved through a disciplined approach — operational execution and prudent positioning over speculative moves. Governance is held to the same standard: we maintain rigorous anti-corruption and anti-competitive policies, and a company-wide materiality assessment we review annually and publish in our Sustainability Report so stakeholders can hold us to them.
